Our neighbor was talking to us in our driveway on Friday and saw my golf clubs in the garage, “Oh, I didn’t know you play!”. I replied, “I sure do; I’m not good at it, but I like to try.” He said, “We should go play sometime.” I responded immediately, “Okay, let’s go tomorrow morning!”[singlepic id=195 w=320 h=240 float=right] I got online and made reservations at the 3rd oldest golf course west of the Mississippi. Pulling into the parking lot Saturday morning, I can tell you this course is anything but “old”. The fairways are lush, mowed, the greens had just been aerated, the buildings were all in great shape. The only thing that reminded me it was a municipal course and not a country club, was how crowded it was. We weren’t in a hurry, so it was no problem.[singlepic id=193 w=320 h=240 float=left]The views were incredible, the temperature was perfect, I even made a birdie on the 5th hole with an 18 foot chip from off the green (that’s a GOOD thing for all you non-golfing peeps).
My neighbor told me driving home after golf, “Man, I’m glad you said ‘let’s go tomorrow’. That’s what I like about you, you just DO it, no hesitation.” The suggestion was made, we went all in, and what an amazing reward we got for it, a beautiful, relaxed day of golf.
